Cylin­der press­es are char­ac­terised by using a large cylin­der to deliv­er paper and impres­sion to type on a flat bed. This prin­ci­ple is used by the lat­est let­ter­press machines (like the Hei­del­berg Cylin­der machines); pre­ci­sion proof­ing press­es; and the Wharfedale fam­i­ly of machines.
